HEAT PACK/GEL PACK

Chance into a few extremely value for money items while shopping at IMM Daiso this morning. The $2.00 shop seems to have some quality and innovative items, althou we should not expect too much.

I used to buy heat pack for my mum at some major shopping centre when we travel to coutries during winter season. It cost about $4.50 for a pack of 3pcs and heat retention is only about 8 hours. The 3 pc pack at Daiso last 18 hours and 5 pc pack last 8 hours. All at $2.00 each and made in Japan.

Another item worth trying is the Gel Pack (Both hot and cold use). I tried the hot gel for my extremely tense shoulder. Place it in the microwave oven for about 45 sec, then put it over your tense area, the result is marvellous.

Of course this pack does not have therapeutic treatment as compared to Herbal Ball, but it is good for Quick Fix.

APPLYING YOUR KNOWLEGDE IN A "BEAUTY SALON"

One of the problems often facing newly qualified Beauty Therapists is that Employers ask for “experience”.

At SingTrain Academy, beauty services are performed by students under the guidance of their trainer/assessor as part of their learning curriculum.

The objective is to provide a "work experience program" for students to practise their competency learnt in class, regularly in a real working condition. Upon their graduation, these students would become valuable employees.

NEVER TOO YOUNG TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

You don't have to wait until you're grown up to be counted. In fact, if you're between 10 and 16 years old, you're the perfect age to take up a skill-set of your interest, and to start thinking of the possibility of pursuing a career in any job sectors which interests you.

Fifteen year old Li Min is keen in beauty courses for starters. Her enthusiasm was probably kindled by her mum Janet who invited Li Min to be her model during her recent Bridal Make Up assessment.

Li Min joined the Certificate In Nail Therapy (Manicure/Pedicure)course during the School Holiday in Nov/Dec. She very quickly picked up the skills set and are now able to "coach" these Aunties and Jie Jie who had just started the CIBTAC Module in Manicure & Pedicure today.

MingHui us another young lady (then 16 years) who completed the Cert In Bridal Make-up Course during her Sec 4 School Holiday. She is currently in Polytechnic and already helped dolled many of her classmates during events/functions.

Kudos and congratulations to our "Baby in the Class" - Li Min & MingHui!!
