It was a blissful Sunday morning as we see 7 beautiful brides and their make-up artistes putting on their best performance during the Bridal Make-Up Assessment.

We see how these trained Bridal make-up artistes transformed their "brides" from a simple looking young lady to a gorgeous bride.....too bad, no grooms!!

SAYANG KERJA SAYANG KERLUARGA (SK2) WORKSHOP

SingTrain Academy is privileged to be invited to showcase our SPA & Beauty related courses at SK2 event on 26 Jan 2008.

The event is organized by North West Community Development Council (CDC) in collaboration with the North West Mosque Cluster. The purpose is to offer job skills training to unemployed Muslim Community seeking to return to the workforce.

Highlight for SingTrain Academy was a Head & Shoulder Massage demonstration on our distinguished “Models” GOH Mr Hawazi, Special Guest, Mayor Dr Teo Ho Pin and An-Nur Mosque Executive Chairman Mr Rahim.

Special thanks to our Associate Trainers Kenny Lim, Penny Chew and Roshna for helping at the function this morning. Many thanks to Cincelia who dedicately stayed in the School to conduct a Workshop on Threading and Waxing! Bravo Guys!

Are you weary of tweezing yours or helping someone tweeze their eyebrows hair by hair, trying to get the perfect shape? Do you hate ripping off skin when you wax your upper lip? Maybe you would like to try threading… a traditional Indian form of hair removal. This procedure is now used by beauty therapists around the world to reshape eyebrows, remove the hair in the upper lip and face.

You will learn the effective and safe way to administer professional technique of Threading and Brazilian Waxing from our Beauty Trainer, Ms Cincelia Tan. Cincelia is a prominent NSRS Beauty Trainer & Assessor for SingTrain Academy, Media and the SPA Industry. This skills-set would also help those who wish to offer it as a free-lance service to bring in extra income.

Course covers :

1. Understanding Basic anatomy and physiology of the hair and skin
2. Introducing tools of the trade (Waxing & Threading)
3. Art of removing hair from the eyebrows, face, arms , legs and toes using a cotton thread
4. Understanding the cosmetic science of wax
5. Traditional Brazilian Wax on bikini line, eye brow shape, underarm, lip,chin and leg

CELEBRATING 2007 AND WELCOMING A NEW 2008!

May 2007 marks SingTrain Academy 1st year of establishment in offering Certification Courses in the SPA and Beauty Industry. As we take stock of our humble achievements for the last one and a half year, we sincerely wish to thank our Training Partners, our Dedicated Trainers, Assessors and Supervising Assessors and our learned Students for their co-operation and pro-activeness which makes skills upgrading more accessible and interesting.

Our special appreciation to Community Development Councils, Social Services, CDAC, MUIS for strengthening our level of collaboration between the various community-based help agencies and not forgetting WDA and related agencies (SDF &B SRP) for their administrative support in granting training funds.

With SPA & Beauty Industry migrating to WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualification System) by 3rd quarter of 2008, we would be embarking on the path to tackle these new challenges.

In the meantime, we will continue to strive and offer more industry-related certifiable courses as well as workshops to meet the skills-set upgrading needs of Therapists and Beauticians.

BODY ROCKING, FINGER CHOPPING, ELBOW PRESSING, Laughter and Fun!! Oh No!!! We are not conducting a Dancing,Karate or Akido Class…….

A group of Enthusiastic Professionals and "Would-Be Therapists" attended our Week-End Certificate In Chair Massage on 15 Dec 2007 . Training is conducted on Domestic Chair and Body Rocking….. Elbow Pressing….. Chopping….Kneading….. techniques were imparted on how to release the upper and lower back muscles to relieve strain on the head, stiff neck and shoulder, aching wrist, tense lower back etc.

It was a fun Saturday with LOTS OF RYTHMN AND LAUGHTER and of course a relaxed body and new skills set!! Well Done Trainer Kenny Lim and Guys!
