BEIJING OPERA ? Its Certificate In Threading & Brazilian Wax Course

Oh No No!! We are not having Beijing Opera Lesson. Its Eyebrow Threading and Brazilian Waxing Course for a group of Beauty Enthusiasts.

The fundamental of providing a professional Facial and Eyebrow Threading is first to learn how to handle the most important material... ie The Thread!! and of course, compliment with pretty body poster (like performing Arts)

It was a day of fun and laughter where we saw many beautiful legs,arms and eyebrow going thru the threading process. The later part of the afternoon was a more serious session with participants going thru' the Brazilian Waxing procedures. No photos for this segment, Soo..rr...y!

Dragon Boat Race - NorthWest CDC

Kudos and Good Luck to Mayor Teo Ho Pin and NWCDC representatives on the coming Dragon Boat Race @ Bedok Reservoir.

As a gesture to support them, Penny and myself was @ NWCDC to help relaxed the tensed muscles of some of the members who had undergone a rigorous training the day before.

Certificate In Infant & Child Massage/Tuina - 12 Apr 08

Its another day of practical training for the Class attending their 2nd session of Infant and Child Massage Tuina. In the afternoon, it was a good Dialogue Session with Visiting TCM Licenced Physician Mdm Tan Ai Tee.

Topics on therapeutic treatments for both young and old as well as food cure and herbal cure were discussed.

BACK TO "SCHOOL" - Greetings from Chiangmai

The weather in Chiangmai is as hot as an oven, 38 to 40 Degree during the day. Was at School - TMC Chiangmai on 8 Apr and fond memories of my previous 3 months attachment streams back. School CEO Khun Jan, Principal Khun Noo and staff were as warm as the weather.

The school is resided along the River Bank and students can enjoy their tea-break and lunch alongside the river. The ambience is fantastic, especially during winter (ave 15 to 20 degree in late Nov to Feb). We would probably be organising a short trip to Chiangmai in late Nov 08 for our Alumni Members who are keen to visit the school for a 1-day course cum 3 to 4 days tour. CHILDREN - OUR GREATEST GIFT

Parents, Parents-To-Be, Grandparents-To-Be and Caregivers experienced a relaxing and fun environment of an Infant and Child Massage/Tuina Class@ SingTrain Academy on a Warm and Humid Saturday morning. This is quite an "International Get-together" with participants from Malaysia, Spain, Austalia, Thailand and of course, Singapore.

We enjoy working closely with our participants to offer hands on instruction and help communicate their love for baby through touch and tactile stimulation using a variety of tuina and massage techniques.

Lesson continues on 12 Apr when our visiting Licensed TCM Practitioner Tan Ai Tee and Ms Penny Chew will continue with more techniques.

Be A Volunteer At United Medicare Centre (UMC) With Bryan

This initiative was mooted by Bryan Laoshi and supported by SingTrain Academy as part of our Corporate Social Responsibilities. As Bryan in currently in KL, I proceeded to meet up with Ms Tan, Nursing Director of UMC this morning.

She welcomes the idea of our students offering Volunteering Work at UMC Centre. The Centre , located at Lorong 6 Toa Payoh is the first purpose-built 240-bedded private nursing home which was initiated by the Ministry of Health. The 5-storey compound is professionally managed with proper Physiology Room, Guest Lobby, Residents Room as well as a Roof Garden. I have discussed with Ms Tan and have identified the Roof Garden as the most appropriate place to offer Touch Therapy and Hand Reflexology to the residents.

While Bryan and myself worked on the details on how we should approach this voluntary initiative and review how this would benefits the general health condition of the elderly, as well as the practical skills set and voluntary spirit of our students, I have taken some photos for your viewing.
